INTRODUCTION
Despite the efforts by organizations and governments at all levels to uphold the rights of the Girl Child and fight all forms of violent crimes against her, there exists mostly in developing nations, an upsurge of rape, molestation and in some cases, gruesome murder of girl children with serious dehumanization, this creates a sense of worries that must be addressed by all stakeholders.
The massive deployment of the police in major theaters of conflicts in some of the developing countries does overstretch and considerably undermine their capacity to concentrate on the traditional policing role of maintaining public order and safety, law enforcement, detection, prevention and investigation of criminal activities. Hence, the a need to increase public awareness of girl child rights with emphasis on corporations, and societal response to girl child protection.
The success of all intervention plans and projects aimed at addressing the menace of girl child abuse and upholding her rights will be largely determined by the level of sincerity, grassroots engagement and the commitment of government and the citizens working together. It also demands and requires the introduction of innovative mechanisms like the “ Subscribe" Project to drive those plans to success.
Considering the impact and effectiveness of social media and real-time connection, uniting people across the board to fight and halt all forms of harmful practices against the girl child in our cities, towns and suburbs, the "I Subscribe" Project runs on real-time/ technology-driven initiative that is systematically and symbiotically integrate people into the existing policing system of protecting the rights of the girl child.
PURPOSE
The "I Subscribe" Project is predicated on the need to substantially reduce, prevent and frontally tackle increasing crimes against the girl child in our society. The prevalence of rape, kidnapping, discrimination, oppression, pedophilia, trafficking, child marriage, slavery and denials of her fundamental human rights, has now constituted a major part of the centers of criminality. The active involvement of our executives, legislative, judiciary, religious leaders, traditional leaders, groups and opinion leaders in responding to girl child emancipation from all forms of abuse cannot be ignored; this explains why they are key and very central to the control and eradication of the menace. The "I Subscribe" Project will provide basic awareness and step-up programs via social media and real-time activities to secure the commitment of our leaders as advocates of Girl Child Rights. The "I Subscribe" Project is a critical success factor, as it is real-time and Hi-Tech driven and easily adaptable with existing systems and far-reaching given that; the stakeholders are either citizens with constitutional responsibility to defend the rights of the girl child, or those that are affected by girl child abuse or those criminals who are themselves involved in violating the rights of the girl child. Perpetrators are always confident in abusing the girl child due to some traditional beliefs and non-awareness of girl child rights. The "I Subscribe" Project will expose the antics and erode the confidence of these perpetrators at various levels.
